That’s a bit grandiose, actually. The big storm really hasn’t amounted to an awful lot but some welcome rain. There was a tree down across the road, but it was dead already anyway. Every once in a while we’ve had a gust of wind, and the power went out for a minute.
The rain has gotten pretty heavy at times, and the gulleys and ditches are all pretty full, but not really overflowing.
It has beaten the petals off some of the flowers, leaving only the outer structure. I found these stars in the grass and fell in love with them.
Thirsty spiders might be glad of the rain drops in their webs, although it is likely they would prefer a bug or two.
More than anything else, the rain created reflective surfaces in unexpected places.
